B by Brian Atwood: Pre-Fall Preview

Yesterday I spent a glamorous afternoon sipping champagne, eating chocolate covered strawberries and trying on shoes- every girl’s dream!  The event at Saks Fifth Avenue gave me an exclusive first peek preview of the  pre-fall collection from B by Brian Atwood before it actually hits stores.

For those of you not familiar with the label, designer Brian Atwood has held such prestigious positions as Head Designer for Versace (the first American ever hired by the great Italian Designer) and Creative Director for Bally before beginning his own line.

In 2001, he debuted the very first Brian Atwood collection. A mix of come-hither heels and magnetic style made his freshman collection immediately successful. Atwood gained notoriety not only for his exceptionally crafted footwear but also for his inventive manner of presenting them, including a memorable peep-show locale and once using back-bending contortionists as shoe models.

In Fall 2011, Atwood launched his contemporary footwear collection B Brian Atwood. “The contemporary line is A mix of Upper East Side Poshness, Downtown cool, along with a Parisian sophistication; Inspired by the globe trotting fashionista. Each design incorporates sexy and aggressive silhouettes.”

The pre-fall collection encompasses everything Atwood is known for, sky-scraping heels, intricate detailing, hand placed European crystals and glamorous embellishments.

For me what makes this collection stand out from the rest is the fastidious attention to detailing in the heels and soles of the shoes from metal studs, to metallic fabrics, animal textures and candy like glitters that will make everyone stand up and take  notice you as you walk away!

The B by Brian Atwood Pre-Fall collection will be available at Saks Fifth Avenue stores mid April.

This week one lucky winner will received and HUGE BOUNTIFUL Gift Basket from Saks Fifth Avenue’s Cosmetics department with goodies from brand such as Kiehl’s, Carolina Herrera Perfume, Bobbi Brown and Sumita PLUS much much more!

  1. How do I choose just one? Awww I love em all, but the one that stands out most to me are the Arleen Platform wedges!!!! So adorable!

  2. One of my favorite things in the world is tone-on-tone fabric/crystal usage (it’s subtle, but still has that glitz I crave!), so I’m loving those black crystal heels!

  3. All of these B By Brian Atwood are awesome!!! I love the black with black crystals on the bottom. you can wear these with soooooo many outfits! The crystals really give it major glam and style

  4. I especially love black crystals on black heel. Just enough crystals to glamourize any outfit!

  5. OMG! I LUV SHOES! I wish I could be that sassy at work! I guess that’s why I don’t own a pair of tennis shoes-I can only do chic, and tennis shoes are NOT chic! Those multiple-colored, animal print heels sent from heaven with a dark washed, slightly flared Jean and a flowy white Boho blouse? Now that’s chic!
Champagne, strawberries and shoes-oh my! A scenario right out of my dreams! Which shoes did you win?

  6. These shoes are amazing and just my style! I actually LOVE the metallic studs and the use of leopard print is very cool. I could match an ICJ handbag easily with these! 🙂

  7. I love the fuchsia with the embellishments on the heel but I don’t think I’m ball-sy enough to wear them, haha. I’d wear the black ones everywhere though!

  8. Love Love love! The metal studded heel is such a big statement piece for an outfit. I’d be walking in backwards to every room I entered. lol, not really, but I’d be making sure I wasn’t standing with my back to the corner! 😉 Beautiful shoes! <3

  9. Hi Christie, I am so bummed that I missed your event! Looks like it went awesome and congrats on new shoes!! I am a big fan of Brian Atwood shoes and his designs! I really like that he makes larger sizes, especially since I wear 40/41, 42 in Loubtin! I love that Saks has an amazing selection of B by Brian Atwood shoes, I got a pair of boots in January by him there! I adore all of the shoes above, but I am really loving the nude pump with pretty crystals as well as the fuchsia peep toe heel with crystals =) I look forward to seeing this collection in the future at Saks!
*I never knew his background story! All the years @ Intermix, I never learned that… thanks for schooling us =)
