Boo hoo hoo, sob I’m missing Fashion week.

Right about now every fashionista in the country is swarming to New York to view the Spring 2017 runway shows, attend parties and get a jump on the Spring 2017 trends.

Sad face- I can’t attend this time around so I’ll be sitting behind my computer dutifully streaming the shows instead.

Now that I’ve had my tantrum let’s get back to talking about Fall 2016 trends.

Even though I won’t be there in person I wanted to get in the NYFW spirit with a city inspired Fashion Week worthy look.

This season I seem to be emoting a bit of a dual fashion personality and hey that’s ok.  I always say dress for your mood.

I am loving the edgy rock n roll inspired pieces but I am also OBSESSED with lady-like classic looks a la Karl Lagerfeld.

My sudden fashion mood has launched a relentless search for a vintage Chanel jacket- which hopefully you will be seeing as an OOTD soon- and I am drooling over Karl Lagerfeld’s entire namesake collection.

Fall 2016 is all about florals and texture and this Karl Lagerfeld dress embodies both!

I can’t get enough of the ladylike silhouette and instantly fell in love with the delicate floral details and sheer bodice.  So dreamy!

Style Tip: Ladies, here is why you need to have a Tailor on speed dial: I scored the dress at a steal of a price at Saks Off Fifth but it was one size too big and the only one they had.  My tailor did her thing clip-clip stitch-stitch and now it fits perfectly!

I wanted to keep the look from becoming too serious so I added some pops of fall color and a bit more texture with this drool-worthy Mulberry bag and floral Tory Burch heels.

The easy thing to do would have been to pair this dress with black heels and a black clutch BUT by mixing in patterns and adding color it punches up the savvy factor of the look by a million.

The result is a look that seems effortless yet totally unexpected.

Style Tip: The key to mixing patterns/textures is to keep the colors in the same color family, use patterns of different scales and pair them with a neutral solid as the foundation.
