What do you get when you take Renaissance Courtly style and mix it with some 1970s inspiration and add a dash of Elton John flair?  The Gucci SS17 Collection.

Alessandro Michele has been killing it at Gucci.  This inside man who had quietly worked away behind the scenes at Gucci for 12 years, was unexpectedly made creative director of the house in January 2015.  Breathing new life into the iconic brand, he has taken the fashion house on a fantastical, whimsical and vintage inspired revolution that has paid off- in 2016 Gucci sales were up 11.5% from the previous year.

Last weekend I attended a chic blogger breakfast at the Gucci Boutique at The Forum Shops where the fantastic folks at Gucci took us on a tour through the Spring Accessories Collection.

The SS17 Collection is dominated by blush, pink, nude and red tones adorned with opulent courtly pearl-esc bobbles and studded spike details- a bit of an edgy romantic love story.

The shoe collection this season is a work of art. From every angle, each part of the shoe has an interesting detail.

I spent MOST of the time at the event at the SUNGLASSES wall.  I am obsessed with Gucci’s Elton John esc shade designs this season!  From Sparkles to studded stars to sunnies that flip up and reveal a clear lens underneath I can’t get enough!

My overall take on the collection?  Refined yet playful, the perfect mix of genres, fabulously flashy and fantastically eccentric.  Everything that makes my fashion loving heart go pitter patter. Love, love. love!
