Rouge Coco Who do You Love?

Today I was in attendance as the first U.S. Chanel Fragrance and Beaute Boutique opened its doors at the Forum Shops in Las Vegas.

Not only is the boutique absolutely gorgeous, complete with a 12 foot long chandelier whose bulbs form the iconic Chanel  C’s, I was also treated to a preview of the new Rouge Coco Hydrating Lip Colour by celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee who as a celebrity makeup artist for Chanel has a client list which includes Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, Rooney Mara, Sienna Miller and Rose Byrne.

The new Rouge Coco Hydrating Lip Colour is a completely revamped formula from the previous Rouge Coco. Designed to produce a radiant and melt-away quality it integrates Hydraboost complex leaving lips supple and nourished with a comfortable veil of hydration.  The color applies not as a gloss or as a matte but as a moist natural texture to the lip.  #GORGEOUS

The collection features 29 new shades in 6 colour palettes (Nudes, Oranges, Pinks, Rosewoods, Reds and Plums), each named after the friends, family, lovers and muses of Mademoiselle Chanel -all people who she loved.

Rouge Coco will be available nationwide in two weeks but until then the only place to grab it in the US is the Boutique at Forum Shops.

Kate Lee gave a demonstration of the new product along with some insider tips and techniques for application that she used on Kiera Knightley for recent Red Carpets.

Lee recommends a new innovative lip application technique which is really quite genius.

First use a liner that is the same color as your natural lip (rather than the color of the lipstick), then apply the lip color as normal and follow with what she calls “reverse lip liner”.

Reverse lip liner is simple, just take the same concealer you use under your eye and gently line the outside corners of the mouth to clean up the edges.  This allows you to create crisp precise lips that are not overly drawn or painted on.  Lee says feel free to play with laying gloss on top if you want a bit more shine BUT remember a little goes a long way. The only part of the lip that should be shiny is the crest of the lip, keep the edges matte.

Chanel was generous enough to give me some samples of Rouge Coco to try for myself and let me tell you…..I am in LOVE.

Probably the most hydrating lipstick I have ever worn.  LUSH, LUSH, LUSH.

My lips feel plump, smooth and the color is fantastic.  One swipe and you have a perfect subtle lip, two swipes and it builds to a vibrant statement lip.

I am crushing on Arthur from The Lovers Color Palette right now.  Pretty sure he will be my Spring fling.  I love him.
