Tea-inspiration

The summertime blues seem to be creeping in on me.

Who am I kidding, they aren’t creeping in- they have pitched a tent, set down roots and invited their whole family over.  I’ve been feeling quiet, reflective and to be honest a bit of a Debbie Downer.

They say “There ain’t no cure for the summertime blues” but I think I may have found one.  A few weeks ago while perusing my twitter feed I stumbled across an image that caught my attention.

Kendra Richards (an amazing beauty blogger- Where Beautiful Things Happen– check her blog out for the hottest makeup how-to’s ) posted an image of a  tea bag that had a cute little inspirational message on the tag.  I immediately lit up!  What was this and how could I get my hands on one!

(above: Kendra’s original twitter photo that grabbed my attention)

That tea bag spoke to me.  Yes tea bag, I think I will live for something bigger and better!

I have always been a fan of fortune cookies.  There is nothing like the giddy feeling of cracking one open to see what secret fortune lays inside.  Now thanks to Kendra I found Yogi tea.

The idea of Yogi tea began in 1969 when Yogi Bhajan started teaching yoga in America. He shared the wisdom and knowledge of Ayurveda and healthy living that he had mastered in India with his students while serving a specially spiced tea, which they named “Yogi Tea.”

The recipe contained five traditional Ayurvedic spices: cardamom seed, cinnamon bark, clove bud, ginger root and black pepper.

These delicious spices, when brewed in tea, leave you feeling vibrant and alive, while boosting overall well-being.

Today, Yogi has over 60 tea blends, many of which are created using the five original Yogi spices.

So Yogi teas lift you from the inside with their tasty combination of spices and the outside with their fortune cookie esc messages.

Yogi calls these messages Yogi Inspirations: life’s simple truths created to awaken a sence of goodness within you. You can even go to their website and Social Media share them!

I’ve been relaxing, sitting back sipping on my yummy tea and somehow each time I open one, my Yogi in a box knows just what I need to hear that day, the perfect message of inspiration for me.

Sometimes all we need is something as simple as a good cup of tea and a little yogi inspiration to lift our spirits and  turn things around.

So if you know someone who is feeling the summertime blues, pick them up a box of Yogi tea to lift their mood, treat their taste-buds and give them a little yogi-style inspiration.

Namaste.

  1. First!
My favorite inspirational quote is work related:
“If you aren’t fired with enthusiasm, you will be FIRED with enthusiasm.”
    Love it!
Thanks Christie. I love teas, gonna check these out.

  2. My favorite is something my brother posted: “Peace” does not mean being in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means being in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

  3. These are awesome!

So far my favorite is this:

“Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one.”

I still struggle with being positive when I am often perceived as negative (though I’m not) and I’m trying to just smile through this and keep moving forward. I still have to vent at times but it helps to keep a positive attitude.

  4. I LOVE Yogi Tea! One thing I’ve noticed about the teas is that their aromas permeate the air. So not only do you benefit from drinking them, you add a nice fragrance to your home, too. Okay, my favorite inspiration: Erase all the obstacles from your mind and let the light shine on you.

May the light shine on you, my dear friend Christie! XoXo

  5. I love Yogi Tea. It’s pretty much the only thing that got me through the nausea of my last pregnancy. Yay Lemon and Ginger! I have a favorite saying that I love, but it may not be appropriate to put here… it’s from my SUPER feisty 83 yo grandma who doesn’t really have any filters. So I’ll refrain… but LOVE the Yogi Tea!

  6. “Your soul can be at peace only if you live in peace.”
I adore Yogi tea. Besides tasting good, I love the little mantras.
