Karl Lagerfeld showed the fashion fabulous that high end designers could design ultra-chic pieces from faux fur back in 2010 when he based Chanel’s entire Fall 2010 collection around fake fur.
Fashion icons as diverse as Michele Obama, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Lady Gaga have all publicly sworn off fur. Designers such as Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood and Ralph Lauren refuse to use real fur in their collections.
ASOS (one of my fav e-retailers) has launched a campaign to help vegan/eco-conscious fashionistas ensure that the faux fur they buy is 100% faux.
As a member of The Fur Free Retailer Program – an international initiative giving consumers around the world accurate information about a retailer’s fur policy- ASOS has pledged never to sell items made with real fur.
