LOTD: Romantic Navy and Black

FullSizeRender (27)

One of my favorite color combinations is Black and Navy.

There is something so rebelliously breaking-the-rules chic about the pairing.

Once upon a time there was a tried and true fashion rule that decreed the two should NEVER be combined but over the past few years designers have thrown that “old school” way of thinking to the roadside and embraced how fantastic the two colors can look together.

Being a Fashion Stylist and working a season ahead has it’s advantages.  I always know what’s coming, what’s new and next so I am able to plan my seasonal wardrobe pretty early.

This look of the day actually began last March.   After viewing the Fall collections and watching Disney’s revamped live action flick Cinderella I knew dark Romanticism was going to be a big Fall 2015 trend.

This gorgeous ruffle blouse is from the limited edition Cinderella inspired Modern Princess collection that super model Coco Rocha teamed up with HSN for last spring.  I have been counting the days until the weather cooled and I could wear it!

The romantic details on the front and sleeves look utterly couture yet the price-point was unbelievably pocket friendly and I can’t get enough of the courtly high button collar.

The blouse is currently sold out but they are expecting more in.  Click here for details.

To avoid being over-the-top gothic (which is where I could easily go with this blouse) I paired it with a fun flirty navy Phillip Lim for Target skirt I snagged a few seasons ago.

….and then accessorized with a vintage resin rose ring and my two latest OBSESSIONS: an Alexander McQueen double zip bag and the Toro heels I picked up at the JDRF Donald Pliner event a couple weeks ago.

These loafer style heels are EVERYTHING!

Sleek, on-trend and more comfortable than any other heel I own.  You are going to be seeing these babies pretty frequently fashion friends!

I wanted my nails to compliment not compete so I went gray scale with Smith & Cult’s perfect taupe shade Tenderoni.
