While half the country may still be dashing through the snow, here on the West Coast we are enjoying beautiful mood-lifting sunny 75 degree days which means…. SPRING FASHION!

So tuck away those sweaters, pack-up those heavy coats and let the SS16 trend-casting begin!

Stripes are hot for SS16.  Designers painted the runways with big, bold stripes from vertical to horizontal, chevron and ribboned in everything from soft delicate pastel shades and rainbows to power-packed edgy monochrome Bowie-esc designs.  Wear them in matchy matchy sets, mix them with florals or pair with an electric statement color.

When wearing stripes the key is to is to choose a piece that flatters your frame and brings focus to your physical pluses rather than drawing attention to the parts of your body that you would rather hide.  So you don’t have the most “runway” type frame, well contrary to what you may have heard from your mother- you can still wear stripes!

If you wear stripes vertically they can be slimming and even appear to add a few inches to your height. Horizontal stripes strategically placed at your bust and hips can create an optical illusion of a smaller waist.  They add width so are perfect for creating the illusion of a larger bust or to create the illusion of curves on boyish figures.
