Buckle Up with Raina

The belt is the single most underestimated accessory.

A belt can aid in flattering your figure, adding a chic touch to your look, and keeping things in place. Think of it as the cherry on the top of a sundae.

Choosing a belt and knowing how to use it can be a little overwhelming, so I sat down with THE belt expert Raina Goldenberg of Raina Belts to help you learn how to buckle up this season!

Q: With so many styles of belts how do you know which is right for a particular look?

RG:  The right belt can instantly transform your style.  A belt with color and texture  can really pop on a monochromatic look and a stretchy belt can sartorialize a otherwise baggy fitting dress. But many women have a difficult time choosing the right belt for the right look.

The Obi Belt style is perfect for wearing with tucked in shirts to hide the division of bottom and top and stunning when cinched over a long jacket.

Leather Belts are great slung around the hips or fitted at waist over loose fitting dresses to create a Bohemian look.

Embellished Belts a chic combination of soft leather and faceted crystals ensures it’s a striking yet versatile choice for day or night.  Pair it with a dress or high-rise denim for a more casual approach.

  1. Christie!!! Joanne, Charlie, Bill and I had a wonderful time at the Miss America Pageant last night. Thank you so very much for the great tickets! We had a great view from our seats. It was a great performance and I would love to go again next year! You’ll be getting a thank you note in the mail!
I just finished reading Nina Garcia’s “The One Hundred” I have been thinking about my belt collection since. She says if the belt is big and bold, keep jewelry simple. So, if I win the eye-catching Love Knot belt, I will follow this rule. If trousers are low-slung or high waisted, wear a skinny belt.

  2. As a guy, I always wear a belt. I feel naked without it.
I have a cool seatbelt buckle belt I like to wear occasionally.
    🙂

  3. Love the leather belt! Especially for spring, I would wear it with a simple white tee and jeans shorts or a floral dress.
