Last weekend was both sweet and sad for me, I hosted a fabulous event supporting JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund -10% of all sales went to JDRF) with one of my favorite designers Donald J Pliner at his Forum Shops boutique in Las Vegas.
This was Donald’s last in-store appearance before he steps down as Creative Director from the company he founded. Sad face emoji.
With his usual personality packed gusto Donald darted around the store chatting with patrons, helping customers choose the right fit/style for their needs and sharing with them the story behind each shoe. For Pliner fit and comfort are always at the forefront of his designs “comfort is number one and then comes the fashion”.
And in true DJP style he signed shoes!
Of course I couldn’t leave without scoring a new style and here is my top pick!
Kasia Bootie. I tried it on in both the Olive Brushed Leather (above) and Black Oiled Suede (below). I went with the Suede because they had a great summer rocker vibe about them.
They are Ridiculously comfortable with an ultra cushioned footbed (even better than a sneaker) yet the cut out details, stacked heel and side zipper make them super chic. Expect to see these in some upcoming OOTD posts!
