Last night I hosted a shoe-tastic event at Donald J Pliner in the Forum Shops where guests were able to view and shop the SS16 Collection.
Known for their comfort with heavenly cushioned insoles that make even the highest heels a pleasure to wear (seriously like a little cloud hugging your feet- these really are the most comfortable shoes EVER) Donald J Pliner has become my go-to shoe brand.
The Spring Collection is packed full of noteworthy neutrals with interesting earthy textures plus brilliant pops of sun-kissed colors and wow-inducing patterns.
Let’s start with my latest OBSESSION the Sania heel.
The second I put this heel on I knew it would be mine. I even received a compliment on it from a male shopper while I was trying it on!
The woven leather delivers gorgeous breezy eye-catching detail while the cork covered heel say’s “Hello Spring” and it’s soooooooo comfortable! (note: is also available in coral and bronze metallic)
Espadrilles bring a natural lightness to Spring ’16. The seasonal favorite is making a major comeback in classic and new shapes.
My top Espadrille pick from the Pliner SS16 Collection is The NAOMI siesta fabric wedge.
The sleek ankle wrap laces, braided espadrille rope trim, gorgeous fiesta inspiring patterned fabric, metallic details and cork finishing touches add up to an Espadrille that’s ready to party!
This season prints are taking a backseat in SS16 shoe designs to make way for texture and color BUT the exception is prints on a white background. White-based prints on sandals, pumps and wedges is a MUST for Spring 2016.
Donald J Pliner has created one of my favorite designs of the season in their Treva pump by incorporating earthy laser cut cork to the classic white pump.
The result is something so unique and extraordinary it is truly a work of art.
Florals are another big push for SS16 and Pliner takes the Treva pump in yet another direction with this beautiful textured floral print.
Three more big must-have’s for SS16 are suede, ankle straps and fringe details. The Shayla from DJP hits all three trends!
Gorgeous skin kissed orange suede with cut-out details and a fun playful take on fringe. Super versatile it pairs easily with jeans for day or a fitted dress for evening.
For spring ’16, men’s shoes go unconventional. It’s all about eye-grabbing bottoms in chunky and/or painted rubber with earthy elements of linen, cork and hand braided leather.
My top pick from the DJP collection is the Elijah slip on.
Gorgeous linen mixed with classic leather detailing and the wow inducing men’s must-have of the season, the rubber speckled sole.
