Fair Isle Chalet Chic

Fair Isle Sweaters instantly conjure up images of cold winter air, rosy cheeks, snowy days, and bundling up by the fire.

This season they are making their way out of the ski chalet onto runways and into the hearts of fashionistas.

Fair Isle is a traditional knitting technique used to create patterns with multiple colors.  Named after a tiny island in the north of Scotland that forms part of the Shetland islands.  They first gained popularity in the 1920’s when worn by The Prince of Wales (Edward VIII).  Since then it has become a winter favorite around the world.

  2. this would look amazing as a form fitting sweater dress and would be an easy yet sexy look for fashion challenged people like myself!!!
