This week John Varvatos Debuted his Spring 2014 advertising campaign featuring rock legends KISS.

Being a life-long KISS Fan I can’t tell you how excited I am about this!  Most little girls had Barbie’s as a child, I had KISS doll’s, I would comb Paul Stanley’s hair for hours!

Fresh on the heels of their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, KISS is rockin’ John Varvatos’ Spring 2014 advertising campaign, which was inspired by the notorious album ―Dressed to Kill.

The black and white images were shot by famed Rock photographer Danny Clinch in DUMBO, Brooklyn and depict the band members in timeless John Varvatos tailored clothing.

Describing the inspiration for the advertising campaign, John Varvatos said “Over the years in our iconic music campaigns we have chosen artists that are ground breaking and innovative. This season I was inspired by those qualities, but also one other: the idea that every man at some point wants to be a super hero. KISS is that and more for me. They have broken every rule possible, enduring like no other band in music history while transcending every generation. Their super hero personas are timeless. Creating a ‘Dressed to Kill’ campaign of KISS in suits has not only been a highlight in my career, but my life.”

  1. Very cool. I hope they have these ads up at the shop at the Hard Rock. I enjoy peeping their stuff on my way to Culinary Dropout every day. So far, the Willie Nelson ad has been my fav.

  2. I think Hilly Kristal may be turning over in his grave. I saw this article yesterday and didn’t send it to his daughter (who is a colleague of my husband’s) for fear that she would cry.

I do think the photography is gorgeous and I LOVE the business/brand mentality of Gene Simmons and KISS. The man knows how to do business and keep himself relevant.
