LOTD: Channeling My Inner Zooey DesChanel

I have been in a clean-out-the-closets whirlwind the past week.

Things were starting to ridiculously pile up around here.

Between my wardrobe cabinets overstuffed with leftovers from shoots and my own rapidly growing ready to burst closet it was time for a clean sweep.

While digging through the deepest depths of my penderie I stumbled across something I thought I had lost long ago:  My limited edition Zooey DesChanel for Oliver Peoples sunnies!

I was so excited it spawned an entire LOTD inspired by Zooey DesChanel’s style and created mostly from pieces I have had for at least 2-3 seasons.

I nabbed this cute shirt dress from eShakti.com last summer.  What I really love about this site is that you can completely customize what you order.  First you find a silhouette or fabric you like then you can add any sleeve length you want, change the neckline and adjust the hem to land in the perfect spot!  Plus their price point is ridiculously pocket friendly.

For an oh so Zooey lady-like summer day look I paired the shirt dress with a vintage basket handbag and my favorite Melissa Shoes Campana Papel Ballet Flats.  For those of you that aren’t familiar with Melissa Shoes get to know them.

Brazilian born Melissa Shoes are made from MELFLEX plastic a patented, hypo-allergenic, recyclable, and extremely flexible PVC. The shoes are totally cruelty free and devoid of animal products.  They are incredibly comfortable and ultra-chic- I speak from experience I own 7 pairs of gorgeous Melissa’s.

My legs look pretty fan-frickin’-tastic in these shots don’t they!

Well that’s because I have a new best friend:  Sally Hansen Water-Resistant Airbrush Legs.  I have been dying to try this product so when Sally Hansen sent me a sample I was all “ready-set-spray”.

Big fan.  Huge Fan!  This product is really easy to apply- just spray into your hand then rub onto legs making sure to cover completely and don’t forget your feet!  My legs look pretty amazing- it gave them a little bit of color, made them appear super even in tone and the best part…it didn’t rub off (or sweat off) on clothing- yep and it was hotter than heck out while taking these photos!  It really does live up to the hype.  My legs looked as if they had been airbrushed- as perfect as if I had nylons on!

I finished the look off with the only new thing I purchased for this post- a cute bandanna headband.

Like the look?  What do you think- is there some eShakti.com designing in your future?
