LOTD: Cold Shoulder

ColdShoulderTrend

This season designers gave us the cold shoulder.

Everyone from Derek Lam and Erdem to Givenchy, Creatures of the Wind and Proenza Schouler showcased tops and dresses with cut-outs that exposed models’ shoulders while also featuring straps- a slightly elevated tweak on the off-the-shoulder silhouette.

One of the most wearable trends of the season this “borrowed from the 90s” style is a Must Have, Must Wear, Gimme Gimme for SS16.

It looks great on EVERY body type of EVERY age PLUS provides coverage for those of us with less than perfect arms but still shows a little skin in an elegant and sophisticated way. I don’t know about you but my far from Kelly Ripa toned arms have been dreading tank-top/ spaghetti strap season.

The Cold Shoulder is sexy without being overt and let’s face it, it’s just plain fun.

I was one of the lucky few to score this gorgeous Tanya Taylor Cold Shoulder top (which sold out in 2 days) on TheOutnet.com.  (There are a few sizes left of it in a White/Blue stripe combo at TanyaTaylor.com )

It’s light and airy yet chic enough to wear to an evening event.

For a city sleek look- great for day or night- I paired with my new OBSESSION AG Jeans Legging Ankle Skinny.

Here’s a short girl tip: because I am only 5’4″ the ankle fits me perfectly as a full length pant without being hemmed!  So if you are looking for pants you don’t need to hem opt for an ankle cut.

I then completed the look with my go-to Spring heels: the Donald J Pliner KASIA bootie.
