LOTD: Florals and Bubbles and Weddings

Floralsandbubble

With wedding season officially upon us, you’re probably finding yourself with a whole lot of invites, and that daunting feeling of not a clue what to wear.

Weddings are photo op central so wearing the same dress to multiple weddings the same season doesn’t really work.

I have three weddings to attend over the next few months which means here comes the dresses……

I am normally a Little Black Dress kind of gal but showing up at a Spring/Summer wedding during daylight hours in a LBD makes me feel kinda goth so I began the hunt for something lighter and more fitting with the season.

The second I saw this vibrant Julia Jordan Fit and Flare Scuba dress I said “I do”.

I love the vibrant green watercolor florals in the dress, it has sleeves (which is a must for me), is light/airy, has a happily ever after price point (under $100) PLUS the silhouette is fun and flirty.

SPOILERS: if you follow me on Social Media you will be seeing this dress on me again on May 6th at a wedding.

I paired the dress with two of my top picks from Donald J Pliner: the gorgeous Sania Sandal (I have it in both black and white- yes it’s THAT good) and the chic Ramona Cork clutch.  I love how perfectly they vibe with the botanical feel of the dress creating something very organic and fresh.

Nylons.  Ok so there is a huge debate in the fashion community over whether you can wear nylons with open toed shoes.  It used to be a BIG no-no but fashion rules, they are a changin’.  My thought is this- if you need nylons, you need nylons and I NEED them.

It is fine to wear them with open toed shoes as long as they are super sheer and have a sandal foot, in other words you cannot see the seam across the toes.

My nylons of choice are ASSETS by Sara Blakely (the creator of SPANX).  They hold you in and provide a subtle flawless airbrushed look to your legs.  Unless someone does some serious leg inspecting they probably won’t even know you have them on.

Now for my favorite thing about wedding season: an excuse to use my Francis Kurkdjian Les Bulles d’Agathe (BUBBLES)!

Those of you that know me know I’m crazy for these whimsical deliciously scented bubbles and they are so much chicer than throwing rice!

I wanted them to match my dress (of course) so I chose the Cut Grass scent for this look but the bubbles also come in Cold Mint, Pear and Violet.  I got mine at Neiman Marcus (they are sold out on the website because duh, it’s wedding season, but in-stock in the Las Vegas store) if you are in another city you can buy them online at FrancisKirkdjian.com or check your closest Neiman Marcus.

A red lip is a must for me and at a wedding I need something I can touch up easily (hello cocktails) so I started with NARS Velvet Lip Liner in Nihiwatu then topped it with NARS new Limited Edition Do Not Disturb lip-gloss from the Under Cover Collection. It has the intensity of a lipstick in a gloss form and without any stickiness PLUS it’s super moisturizing!
