OOTD: Elevated Sporty Chic

Over the past few seasons designers have been racing toward sporty, relaxed and “I woke up like this” designs.

Joggers have completely taken over mens apparel and sweatshirts sprinted off the runways to become the MVP of the season.

The key to wearing sporty styles is to not go head to toe with it.

Joggers +  sweatshirt + trainers= no thank you.  That will leave you looking like the guy who is actually working out in the background of my shot…lol.

To elevate a sporty piece into the perfect “off duty” ensemble try pairing it with non-sporty pieces.

When worn alone this Chaser deconstructed sweatshirt says ‘lazy Saturday’ but when paired with a crisp white shirt it toasts ‘brunch in the city’.

Every woman should have  a crisp white collared shirt in their styling arsenal.  They always look chic and can bring polished refinement to any look.

My latest shopping haul scored me these fab jeans from Paige Denim for a steal of a price.

Fitted and figure flattering they make the perfect companion for my elevated sporty look.

I didn’t want things to get too Private School PE Sweet so I added a little Rock n Roll bad girl edge with these zipper boots.

They are supposed to be worn with the suede part flipped down but I think they have way more attitude and play well with the deconstructed elements in the sweatshirt when worn up and left unzipped.

Stack on a few bangles, throw on some funky “I had a late night last night” shades and there you have it, a sweatshirt elevated to off duty chic.

  1. Love the idea, but can you still pull this off if you are 5’3″ and mostly boob (38DD)? I have yet to find a white button down that fits in all the right places and forget layering – I wind up looking like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
