I am absolutely obsessed with Popover dresses this season. Not when I “popover a dress” but a Popover dress lol.
First made famous in the 1940’s by American Fashion designer Claire McCardell, Popover dresses were basically a wrap-around shirt dress with boxy shaped sleeves and a squared off bodice but today they have evolved into any dress with 2 layers, one being the foundation and the other an extra boxy layer on top creating the illusion of layering in a one-piece look.
Sometimes referred to as a Flutter Top dress, Popover dresses have been popular in bridal wear for quite some time but this season they are front and center as one of Spring’s hottest trends!
