Smitten with Twitten

What has 3 parts, is both sustainable and romantic?  The Twitten!

Absolutely ADORBS and the cutest thing I have seen in awhile, The Twitten is a two-person mitten designed for couples.  First designed by Connie Kaiserman in the mid-sixties so that she could hold hands with her sweetie during those tense fourth downs at University of Pennsylvania football games and then later developed into The Twitten line by Connie and her business partner Jennifer Isaacson (a textile sourcing expert).

The Twitten mittens are fair trade and hand made in Peru in by artisans whose work supports and sustains traditional communities.  The majority of the line is produced by women in Puno, Peru.  These expert knitters work outdoors on the shores of Lake Titicaca at an elevation of 12,500 feet.  The yarns they use -100% Alpaca or a blend of 50% Alpaca, 30% Wool 20% Acrylic – are made in Arequipa.

Available as just the Twitten or as a 3 piece set which includes the Twitten and matching mittens for the other hands.

These things are so dang cute!  While my husband and I were taking the photos for this post I must have had 7-8 people come up to us and ask us where to get them!

Heartwarming with a kitschy old-school charm Twittens are at the top of my gift list for couples.

With Valentine’s day just around the corner will you Twitten with your sweetie?
