Wella wella wella huh…Tell me more, tell me more!…
Summer’s here and there will be a whole lot happening! BBQ’s, swimming, eating, the beach, drinking, shopping, parties, etc. and with that comes sweating, sunburns, heat exhaustion, and dry skin! How can you survive the summer and look amazing doing it? There are several Summer Essentials I can’t do without and neither should you!
Here’s what’s in my summer survival bag:
The most important thing is Sunscreen! My current fav is Ocean Potion Broad Spectrum Sunblock SPF 50 Anti-Aging! It protects from free radicals, is long lasting, water/sweat resistant, and smells like a yummy creamsicle (none of that typical sunscreen stink). (please read my previous post “Sun Cautious” about sun protection)
I HATE dirty grimy feet but I love to wear my Havaianas (flip-flops) around in the summer and feet tend to pick up dirt! My solution: Herban Essentials oil towelettes. Throw them in your bag for a quick AMAZING smelling wipe off during the day!
In the heat my face starts to feel so dry it seems like I’m wearing a mask! I love to spritz myself with Fresh Rose Marigold Tonic water! Your skin will instantly move from “dry lakebed” to “calm waters”.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. Coconut water is an amazing hydrator. It has 15 times more electrolytes than other sports drinks and is all natural not to mention the long list of other health benefits!
The Summer sun can leave your hair feeling and looking greasier than a diner burger. A Great way to freshen-up is with Jonathan Green Routine Dry Shampoo. It’s a brush-on powder shampoo that does not require water. It absorbs oil, dirt and product build-up from the roots. The shampoo also adds volume to weighed down-hair, letting you wait longer in between washing.
Hot, sweaty days and nights = shiney face. Applying powder over and over can make your face look cakey! Try blotting papers, they absorb the oil and reduce shine without adding more product to the face!
Your lips can take a beating from the sun! Dry , chappy lips are no fun. Make sure you have a lip balm with SPF to keep your lips protected! I like Keihl’s SPF 15 balm.
Outdoor parties can leave you feeling …uh not so fresh. Carry a light summer fragrance with you to freshen up. (HINT: don’t use a heavy perfume in summer it can be overwhelming..stay with something light and fresh like fruits and candies) I like Aquolina Pink Sugar Body Spritzer..it smells like vanilla and caramel..yum yum!
