Summer Trends: Kimono or Kimo-yes

Kimono Trend

I think we can all agree that an outfit has more life, visual interest and style points when layering is involved.

The hot sweltering summer months make that particular fashion plus a little harder to achieve but I have the PERFECT solution for you, the kimono.  Yep the Kimono Trend is back and hotter than ever so I hope you saved a few in your closet from their last moment in the spotlight.

Kimonos are light as a feather and you barely know they are there yet they give you that special bohemian, western, effortless gypsy, rock and roll vibe. If you ask me they make the perfect summer layering piece.  A kimono can make even the most basic outfit look stunning in seconds.

This one great piece delivers a light layering effect, makes your shoulder look a bit more relaxed and your figure a whole lot slimmer.

It’s easy versatile robe-like silhouette creates is the ultimate summer styling tool.  Toss them over shorts and a top, pair them with jeans and a tee or experiment with layering them over printed dresses- floral on floral is my jam right now. You can even toss a kimono over your swimsuit while at the beach—or rock it over a slinky slip dress for total boudoir vibes.

So what do you say this season?  Kimo-NO or Kimo-YES!

SO much Fun. Never considered floral on floral with my kimonos.
TOTALLY Rockin that this summer. Thank you for the perfect inspiration

  2. See I love th idea of the kimono but I just can never really make them work for me. Idk why I am just terrible at layering them properly even though it seems so easy! I’ll have to try harder. You look so cute!

    1. Try them with something simple and experiment with different arm shapes and lengths. Start with just a t-shirt, jeans and a simple kimono.

  3. I’ve always loved kimonos but I have yet to find one that works for me. They always seem to swallow me cause I’m so petite. Yours looks great
