Mother’s Day- I think it’s safe to say that it’s a tie with Valentine’s Day for the most “floral” day of the year.
I love sending flowers but the people I want to send them to don’t always live in the same place as I do.
When it comes to ordering flowers for someone who isn’t in your same town, the options are pretty limited: 1) an overpriced cheesy 1-800 company or 2) find a local florist in the recipients area whose work you have probably never seen and quality is unknown. Most of the time people opt for #1 out of ease, but the flowers just aren’t pretty.
How can you mess up flowers right? Well somehow these companies do. I have ordered from the 1-800 sect before…. when the flowers arrived and the recipient took a pic and posted it on social media I was mortified.. between all the service charges, delivery fees and other “costs” I just paid $150 for some hideous baby’s breath and carnations with a midway games quality stuffed animal attached on a stick! Could have done better at the grocery store. Total Flower Fail.
Luckily just in time for Mother’s Day I have discovered a fabulous online floral retailer whose arrangements are not only GORGEOUS and effortlessly chic but also affordable, eco-friendly and sustainable PLUS shipping is included in the price!
The Bouqs Company flowers are grown on an active volcano in South America. Seriously! The mineral-rich volcanic soil along the Equator and abundant sunshine produce blooms of surprisingly rich colors. The flowers ship directly from the farm to your door, meaning they’re up to 10 days fresher than those from your local florist. The Bouquets arrive in an elegant box with easy detailed instructions on how to unpack and care for them.
“We cut only what we sell. Other providers source from a supply chain that sees 1 in 3 stems wasted. Across hundreds of thousands of bouquets a year, that’s a lot of wasted land, resources, labor and fuel. We cut only when you order, so we avoid the waste. We also save energy through our direct-from-the-farm supply chain. The standard supply chain must keep stems cold for up to 2 weeks, meaning hundreds of hours of refrigeration and the associated energy use. We use cold storage for only 4 days from the Volcano, and none at all for flowers from America, resulting in a lot of energy savings. Finally, our farms provide living wages, childcare, healthcare and adult education. And our growing business supports farm communities, so you can feel good about shopping The Bouqs Company’s flowers.”
Seriously these flowers are EVERYTHING… just take a peek at a few of the stylish Mother’s Day arrangements they offer. I already placed my order for my mom and mother-in-law (surprise if you ladies are reading this) but don’t worry if you haven’t you still have time to place an order and have it delivered by Mother’s Day!
