FARM Rio Mood Boosting Prints

FARM Rio

Take your fashion from blah to bold this season in mood-boosting prints!

The hottest trend for Spring 2021 will to transport you in cheery prints with a splash of color that will instantly change your vibe.

Spring is all about sunshine and fresh air which demand easy-to-wear, colorful dresses. Think effortless and lightweight silhouettes in voluminous mini’s and jaw dropping maxis with eyepopping prints, dramatic frills, ultra-puffed sleeves, and waist-enhancing fits.

These oh-so-wearable styles let you drift off and daydream about tropical locales.

My favorite go-to brand for effortless mood-enhancing prints is FARM Rio.

Founded by a group of creatives from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Farm Rio believes in the existence of happiness.

More than a brand, they create enlightened cultural movements since 1997. Known for their bold, fun prints with tropical motifs “Farm Rio’s cheerful creations are crafted with an exotic, toes-in-the-sand spirit that’s simultaneously fashion-forward and vintage-inspired”.

Their clothes make you feel playful, yet put-together and confident. With a brand model based in good energies and beautiful frequencies, FARM Rio creates gorgeous sustainable clothing.

For each purchase they donate one tree to be planted in the Amazon rainforest. By planting trees in the Amazon rainforest, they are not only helping to provide and conserve the habitat for hundreds of species of animals, they are recovering previously depleted land and enriching its soil with nutrients. It also provides jobs for hundreds of farming families. All of One Tree Planted’s farms are Fair Trade Certified and 25% of its farmers are women, further promoting ethical practices.

Farm Rio inspires a life well-lived—one of authenticity, vibrancy, and natural beauty.

Welcome to the magic that is FARM Rio, wear it and feel it in your soul.

Summer Camp Chic

Summer Camp Chic

I’ve been feeling totally nostalgic lately and my current yearn is for the good old days of summer camp and I’m craving a big ol’ serving of the good old days with some Summer Camp Chic fashion.

Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been in full camp binge mode with “Killer Camp”, “Addams Family Values” and “Troop Beverly Hills”. Or it could be because my husband and I have been creating mini day escapes to the mountains.  We pack a lunch, fill the back of his pickup truck full of blankets and pillows and lay there all day lazily soaking up the scent of pine trees in the cool breeze. It could also be my yearning for simpler stress free days full of sunshine, laughs, adventures and fireside s’mores moments of bliss.

All I know is that I can’t stop thinking about Summer Camp- so this week I indulged my youthful spirit by creating an outfit to help fuel my summer camp passion with playful pieces that harken back to childhood summers at sleep-away camp.

This retro inspired summer camp chic look delivers a kumbaya feel-good kick to your summer style complete with a Camp Councilor-esc tee. So light that nostalgic fire,  weave up a friendship bracelet and don’t forget to check out the cutie in cabin 14.

Cottagecore – Party like it’s 1894

Cottagecore

Cottagecore is having a big moment.

It just takes a quick scroll through your Instagram or a peek at what’s trending on Tiktok to see that farm chic is the new cool. Who would have thought that baking bread, gardening and embroidery would be the new hot hobbies!

Cottagecore is an aesthetic movement that draws together all of the best parts of going off and living on a farm or in a cabin in the woods.  It’s a pastoral fairy-tale escapist aesthetic.

A world where dappled sunbeams peek through the leaves.  And fawns walk with you down a path while a brook softly burbles in the distance. Freshly baked scones are just emerging from the oven in a thatch roof cottage, while linen-scented laundry dries peacefully on a clothesline in the yard.

It’s a Holly Hobbie illustration come to life.

Increased interest in Cottagecore in the midst of the pandemic totally makes sense. Aside from weathered books, fresh sourdough, and rustic intimacy, Cottagecore’s “leaving society to live in the woods” ethos is built on the idea of social isolation.

Fashion has already been moving in the Cottagecore direction for a few seasons now with brands like DOEN, BATSHEVA and Vampire’s Wife.

To get the look search out floor sweeping prairie dresses and quilted jackets. Toss in a few gingham prints and a basket bag. Opt for high necklines, empire waists, ruffles and western details.  It doesn’t hurt to bake a pie or two as well.. lol .

Basically just give your wardrobe a big ole dose of Outlander meets Little House on the Prairie.
