And just like that summer is here.
This week we hit 105 in Vegas and it’s only going to get hotter so I think it’s officially time to move our fashion focus from Spring to Summer.
Summer inevitably calls for vacation wares but this season you have to take it one step further and embrace those California vibes with a wanderlust spin… all at once.
On the runways we saw ETRO hit the beach with an Endless Summer themed show packed full of tropical prints, bucket caps and a totally chill-vibe. The show even included two female pro surfers, Victoria Vergara and Maribel Koucke, all beachy hair and natural smiles, sporting terrific neoprene swimwear and paisley-printed boards tucked under their arms.
Calvin Klein took a deep dive into the trend with neoprene wet suits, JAWS themes tanks, shark bite cut-outs and ombre tie-dyes while Stella McCartney eased into the trend with carefree soft pastel tie-dye prints, loose boyfriend silhouettes and flip-flops!
The California Cool Trend brings all the things we love about summer into one uber eclectic maybe-I’m-on-vacation look and the best part is that there are dozens of ways to incorporate this chill-vibey style into your wardrobe!
Think Hawaiian shirts worn open in lew of a jacket, lots of tie dye, loud tropical prints, character rich beach hats, retro bucket caps, beaded and shell souvenir-esc jewelry, mixed and matched prints, distressed and bleached out denim, breezy skirts, swimwear as shirts, beach themed tees and of course sunglasses. Finish the look off by adding some old school sneakers like Adidas Stan Smiths or gum soled Vans. Worn-in sneaks are totally on trend this season so you don’t need to struggle to keep those white tennies pristine anymore!
Upbeat and casual this look exudes a laid back vibe with a polished edge that’s ready for a day at the beach or cocktails at sunset.
Basically, the California Cool Trend is totally awesome.
