Ok so we all know that when it comes to fashion the 90s are back in a big way.

Not particularly my favorite decade for fashion or music but hey, when in Rome….

One 90s throwback accessory is making a HUGE statement for SS16: The Anklet.

The SS16 runways were all about this below the knee embellishment from chunky chains paired with slip-on sneakers at Calvin Klein to dainty boho inspired chains at Chloe and multi-chains paired with pointy boots at Dior Haute Couture!

 

Hot trend that looks fantastic on the runways?  Yes, but the big question? How to wear them in real life.

Go bold and pair a chunky toggle anklet with sneakers, or for a more subtle look try a dainty and delicate chain with sandals or a pointed heel.

Keep it simple.  Don’t pile on tons of bangles or necklaces when you rock this trend, let the anklet be your ONE statement accessory.  Seriously it’s saying enough- let it be the star.

Pair with cold shoulder tops and sundresses, distressed cropped jeans, baggy trousers even luxe sheer evening dresses.

Play around and experiment with what works for you.  Just keep in mind anklets should never clash or compete with your footwear, instead, they should help enhance or complement them and they look best on bare legs- so no pantyhose or tights.

Sigh.  Trends. Please tell me that this time next year I’m not writing a post on the return of the toe ring. Ewe.
