J.A.C.H.S. -Urban Prep

Fashion wants to have fun again!

Say goodbye to the minimalism and dark colors of the previous seasons that reflected economic belt tightening and let the sunshine in!

With the release of the book “True Prep”by Lisa Birnbach- the follow-up to the “Preppy Handbook” – in conjunction with Brooks Brothers at NY fashion week, designers took a cue to put some Prep into your step for Spring.

One of my favorite mens collections this season is by  Just a Cheap Shirt (J.A.C.H.S.). Fashionable, functional and fun!

J.A.C.H.S. Spring Summer 2011  is “ALL about color, playfulness and of course plaid!”  The collection is targeted to style-conscious men who are looking for a great stylish shirt to wear to work as well as out on the town.

A mash-up of hipster and preppy creates a new style: Urban-Prep.  The J.A.C.H.S. collection has a sunny lived in elegance.

Colorful cotton textiles with patchwork, embroideries, button snaps, and contrasting color cuffs add personality to plaid shirting.

From bright blue, green, orange and red to plaids and preppy gingham J.A.C.H.S. has it all and with a price-point that will brighten the day of even the most budget conscious consumer! Shirt prices ranging from $39 to $79 with t-shirts priced at $18-$24.

J.A.C.H.S.is available at Saks Fifth Ave., Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Fred Segal and Kitson view the collection at http://www.justacheapshirt.com/

  1. I’m very happy that plaid is back. I know that someone will hate me for that, and don’t get me wrong I love solid colors as much as the next guy. They never really go out of fashion and always come around, but I love plaid. It just makes me feel better, and more colors usually mean a better economy.

  2. I’m going to add prep to my style this summer with some new kicks, add to my collection of J.A.C.H.S. shirts that I already own, and some new jeans.

Is the popped collar still in style?

  3. preps are EVERYWHERE here! I haven’t seen this many turned up collars since RDJ overdosed in less Than Zero! And the Lilli Pulitzer pink/green is in every shop! i’m unsure Don Johnson ever left this state!

  4. Well, i plan to add some prep to my newly unemployed new husband. Construction industry is dead so hes hitting the gym and I plan on pimping him out to the modeling agencies I know in town for some modeling work. I think the preppy look will fit him nicely and he can wear this to auditions!!

  5. I am so glad plaid is coming back! My boyfriend is an IT guy so he dresses in button up shirts and Argyle, but he would look so darn hot in plaid. Most of his shirts are black or navy blue, I would love to add some prep to his wardrobe and color with these bright shirts! Thanks for another great find Christie!
