Anyone who has been within an inch of my blog knows that I don’t typically do personal fragrance reviews.

I have been addicted to one single scent artisan for the past 4 years and didn’t think I would ever stray from them until I received a chic little white box in the mail from Byredo.

Oh Byredo you wicked temptress!

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Bydreo they are a Stockholm based Fragrance House who creates unisex fragrances with a distinct focus on quality and craftsmanship.

Founded by Ben Gorham, a tattooed, former basketball player, art school graduate and self-proclaimed gypsy- Byredo has quickly rose to cult stardom with celebs, olfactory connoisseurs and beauty junkies worldwide dubbing the brand their top pick in personal fragrances.

Byredo keeps the formulas simple to avoid clashing notes.  Gorham believes that fragrances with fewer notes keep each note justified.

Never before have I fallen so deeply and so quickly in love with a fragrance.  I’ll give you a run-down of the notes but the best description I can give is to simply say that with one spritz Byredo’s Black Saffron leaves you feeling instantaneously sexy.

The scent opens with citrus notes of Asian Pomelo and crisp Juniper Berries. It then settles into a warm Kashmiri saffron scent fused with Black Violet, Leather Accord, Blond Woods, Raspberry and Vetiver.

Dusty, Dark, Sweet, Spicy and complete sensual.   If purple velvet fabric came to life as a scent this would be it.

One of my favorite features is that this scent is available in both vanity size bottles and travel forms.  The travel set included 3 spray refills which work within a gorgeous leather travel case perfectly fitted to slip into your handbag- the ultimate way to refresh throughout the day!
