Boo-tifying a New Kind of You’ve Been Boo’ed

You've Been Boo'ed

Sometimes a simple Halloween gift for a friend is the perfect way to brighten her day.

Picture this, you’ve been running around like crazy all week.  Between social distance schooling the kids, the stresses of your job and cooking 8 million meals over the last 6 months the stress is building up. There’s a knock at the door and you hesitantly head over, thinking it’s yet another census taker, but instead you’re surprised to find a cute little Halloween surprise made just for you sitting there.

Life has been crazy and you need those unexpected moments that make you smile. This is a super simple Halloween gift that you can take to a friend to brighten her day (and probably yours too when you give it).

Last year I shared with you a fun tutorial on how to Boo’ze your friends and this year it’s all about Boo’ tifying them!  Boo’tifying works just like Boo’ing but with way better treats.

If you have played the Boo Game during Halloween with your neighbors you know how it’s done. For those of you that are unfamiliar,  it’s a fun game to play at Halloween.  You grab a Halloween bucket or bag, stuff it full of treats and goodies, leave it on your neighbors door step, ring the doorbell and run.

It’s kind of like ding dong ditch but with candy and everyone is happy you rang.

BOO’tifying is a new kind of You’ve Been Boo’ed and it will totally put a spell on you.

It’s “You’ve Been Boo’ed” but make it beauty and so easy! I wanted my gifts to have a rustic witchy apothecary feel so I used my favorite pocket friendly wrapping option- a paper lunch sack.

What You Will NEED:

  • Beauty Treats
  • Paper Lunch Sack
  • Creepy Ribbon
  • Bakers String
  • BOO’tified Printable (DOWNLOAD HERE: You’ve Been Boo-tified Printable )
  • A Feather (It’s part of the spell)

First you will need to gather some bewitching beauty products- nothing too expensive it’s that thought that counts.

I brewed my beauty potion at LUSH at Fashion Show- they just launched their perfectly spooky Halloween Collection of vegan and ethical Halloween treats which includes everything from Bath Bombs to Bubble Bars, Shower Slime, Lip Scrubs and more!  LUSH is perfect for this gift- fun, a great price point, everyone can use them PLUS they smell Halloween-tacular! If you don’t want to use a paper bag LUSH has a super cute Halloween fabric knot wrap (see above) which you can tie FUROSHIKI style and then add the printable.

Once you have your gifts, place them in the lunch sack. (I did one bath bomb in each gift).

Fold the bag over.

Then tie the bag shut with a creepy ribbon.

Now roll your printable up like a scroll and tie it with the baker’s string.  Put a feather behind it and secure them both to the ribbon on the bag.

Leave your Boo-tified potion on your friends doorstep, ring the doorbell and run! Warning- this will be followed by shriek’s of delight from your friend.

I think this year, more than any other, we need to spread a little seasonal magic and this beauty spell is the perfect treat to lift her spirits!

You’ve Been BOO’zed

You've Been Boo'zed

Move over “You’ve been BOO’ed,” there’s a new Halloween tradition in town.. You’ve Been BOO’zed!

If you have played the Boo Game during Halloween with your neighbors you know what I am talking about, for those of you that are unfamiliar,  it’s a fun game to play at Halloween.  You grab a Halloween bucket or bag, stuff it full of treats and goodies, leave it on your neighbors door step, ring the doorbell and run.

It’s kind of like ding dong ditch but with candy and everyone is happy you rang.

BOO’zing is like the grown-up version of BOO’ing your neighbors.

I don’t know about you but I’m pretty sure most of my friends would rather get BOO’zed than BOO’ed.

You've Been Boo'zed

Here’s how to do it.

This “You’ve Been Boo’zed” gift works just like the traditional BOO gifts you’ve seen in the past, except they involve ALCOHOL. Yesssss.

Take your neighbors’ drink of choice, place it in a festive bag, put it on their doorstep, ring the doorbell and run!

You can choose any type of spirit to include in your gift- I used Muddy Boot Wine because it’s a perfect potion, but if your witches perfect stronger libations wrap up a bottle of their favorite booze and include a fun drink recipe card!  I suggest using my Ponche de las Brujas Recipe and a bottle of Tequila!

To make your BOO’zing gift extra chic I have a fun DIY way to really dress your booze up with a Witches Broom gift wrap.

It’s easy, totally on the cheap and sure to deliver shrieks of delight from your friends. This is also a great way to wrap up a Halloween Party Hostess Gift.

STEP ONE: To craft the broom’s bristles cut your first paper bag in 1/2 strips from the top of the bag all the way to where the bag sits flat on the table.

STEP TWO: Open your second paper bag and place your booze of choice inside it and crumble it up like the do at the liquor store if you were “brown baggin’ it”,  then place the bag of booze on top of the flat part of the bag you cut into strips.

STEP THREE: Now cut your third paper bag about three inches from the bottom so that it makes a mini bag.

STEP FOUR: Take the mini bag and place it like a hat on top of the booze bottle and crumble into place while tucking it’s edges inside the other bag.

STEP FIVE: Place the stick down inside the middle of the bag behind the bottle. Then gather the loose strips of your first bag and bring them up and around the sides of the uncut bag covering the bottle and stick. Secure the strips with a rubber band.  (I suggest looping the rubber band twice around the stick just above the bottle before you gather the strips to make it easier to slide down).

STEP SIX: Wrap twine around the rubber band area to cover it up then tie your “You’ve Been BOO’zed” printable to the broom handle with string.  I used black and white bakers string because it looked extra witchy.

Now wait til the sun goes down, park your witches broom on a neighbors doorstep, ring the doorbell and run!  WARNING: You will hear shrieks of delight within a few minutes.
