Trend Alert: Reverse Layering

Its no secret that the 90s are a back for Spring Summer 2016 in a big way.

One of the keys to achieving 90s style is reverse layering and the SS16 runways showed no shortage of it.

From Max Mara and No. 21 to DKNY and MSGM designers set their layering skills in reverse.

Getting the look is pretty simple.

Reverse layering takes THE wardrobe staple piece, the trusty t-shirt, which is usually meant to be worn over other pieces or alone and puts it UNDER pieces like slip dresses, rompers, strapless pieces, tank tops, overalls, sleeveless tops and even long sleeve tees under short sleeve ones!

It’s great for those of us that don’t like to fully bare our arms and it creates and instant cool-kid contrast when paired with a fancy frock.

They work great under a slim pencil silhouette for the office or beneath a gown to make a black-tie look waaaaay cooler.
