Treats to Inspire a Haute-ingly Haunted Halloween

Cuisine-inspired fashion is nothing new!

Designers have been using food as inspiration in their designs for years! Who can forget Lady Gaga wearing a dress made of raw beef to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards? Or Nicki Minaj’s appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival wearing a custom necklace by jewelry designer Onch that looked and felt like a tasty deep-fried chicken wing? Photographer Ted Sabarese even created a series titled “Hunger Pains” in which models wore clothing that depicted their personal food cravings.

With my favorite macabre holiday creeping up on us, an injection of sweet treat inspiration offers a bit of life where there are cobwebs.

Although there is little I love more than fashion, cupcakes hold a special place in my well-accessorized heart.

This week I partnered with the queen of Halloween treats Kari Haskell, co-owner of Retro Bakery, and her delectable concoctions to create bewitchingly couture Halloween looks that Miss Havisham would turn over in her grave to bite into.
