Happy Groundhog’s Day!
‘Early this morning a crowd gathered at Gobbler’s Knob, awaiting the emergence of the groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil. After a tap of a cane on Phil’s tree-trunk cage, his door was opened, and the animal emerged.
He was held aloft to cheers and applause. Phil did not respond, other than to blink. Placed on top of the trunk, he attempted to flee before his actions were closely analyzed.
Interpreting Phil’s behavior, the Groundhog Club emcee proclaimed, “There is no shadow to be cast! An early spring is my forecast!” ‘
According to Phil, it looks as though we will soon be packing away our winter-wear and moving into Spring fashions which means it’s time for a Spring Fashion Preview.
Spring 2016 has three trends which I am really excited about: Vintage Mash-Up, Sleepwear as Daywear and Viva la Espana.
One of my top trend picks of the season Vintage Mash-up carries on last seasons granny chic trend in a fresh spring-time way. Pussy-neck bows, embroidery, vintage embellishments, lamé, layers and retro shapes with sharply modern updates combine different time periods to create something truly artsy and unique. Feel free to pair your true vintage pieces with modern ones and watch time slip away as you don pieces from multiple eras.
SLEEPWEAR as DAYWEAR
Pajama dressing has been taken to whole new level for Spring 2016. From lingerie inspired lacey slip dresses to robe-like jackets and matchy-matchy pajama-esc sets for Spring 2016 designers brought fashions out of the bedroom and give the words “Goodnight” a whole new meaning.
Viva la Espana
Spanish Influences are big big business this season. From Flamenco ruffles to sky high Tango dancer slits, off-the-shoulder details and bull fighter reds. Grab a glass of sangria, put on your dancing shoes and Estar de gala.
